It's that time again
My New Year Resolutions
eat right and get fit

Hey guys, same resolutions as always eat better and get in better shape. I've actually been very slowly getting better on both fronts. I'm also resolving to be better with money, save more and give more to charity. help keep me in line.

Timeless Story

On a frigid night
a bottle and my woman
are keeping me warm

On nights like this the only thing I love more than the weather is the fact that I have someplace to go to get out of it. Homelessness is a problem that doesn’t get nearly enough attention here in Madison or in this entire country for that matter. Things are tight around the entire country right now, but there is probably somebody out there who is in a tighter spot than you are and could use your help. Please give a little to help out one of your local shelters this winter. Sorry to get all preachy. Have a good night and stay warm guys and girls.

I've been a bad bad blogger. ok kids here is a haiku about how tired I am. It's a damn good thing next week is a short one, although come to think of in I'm going to be working harder on my days off than I do at work.

twelve hours of sleep
Its still hard to lift my head
My eyelids like lead

thank god for steroids, by tomorrow I should be feeling better.

Keep up all of the good work
keep the dream alive

Biblioburro is one of my new favourite things mad props to
Luis Soriano, a god among men. There is more than one great thing happening in Columbia check out our brothers in arms at Gaviotas and check out the book.

A couple more for no reason.

And the moon rises
on a crisp October night
and my cup of tea

All of that hiking
watching out for honey bees
but there was no bear

What the police hate

the last three bands to play on my itunes were strike anywhere, Dropkick murphys and The Coup so....

what the police hate:
raise the whole world as your kid,
die with your boots on

One love brothers, collars up against the cold. Our solidarity is our strength.

I'm not dead yet

Still feeling pretty sick, I went to the doctor today. They put me on an inhaler. Chest x-rays are awesome things to get with halloween coming up.

Down with bronchitis
Left alone in the
graveyard
I have found solace

If you guys haven't read any Gaimen yet, everyone should. I think he's written something for everyone. Plus, he is now a home fry. He lives up in the northwoods somewhere. Hope you are all feeling better than I am and are enjoying the weekend.

Welcome

Welcome to my inaugural blog post for Hardcore Haiku. the idea here is to post a (roughly) daily haiku for your reading pleasure, or pain, or pleasure spiked with pain. Whatever you are into really.
As I'm having a hard time switching from setting up a blog mode to writing haiku mode, I will give you one I wrote this past winter.

Rests between two lakes
one hundred inches of snow
bunnies in the street

That is the haiku I came up with for Isthmus's Annual Manual. I'm sure I checked some box saying that the Haiku is their property and I'm probably setting myself up for a lawsuit and S.W.A.T. dudes are going to be repelling down my building and kicking in my windows before I can hit "publish post" but such is life I guess.

Messed with the Isthmus
Now I'm in a dark cold cell
Rats gnaw at my toes

Oh well. hopefully I can bring you something a little better in the future. Cheers!
